London!

For the first time in years, Job and I spent two days somewhere else without the kids (3rd time in almost ten years....). Job's choice was London. Good choice. Of course, two days is not long enough to see everything, but we managed to tick off a lot!

London Eye

Houses of Parliament from the London Eye

London Eye
Royal Albert Hall (not been inside)
Tate Modern

V&A

Victoria & Albert Museum
The good thing about these museums, is that they are free (or at least most parts of the museums). It was a little bit too much for me ;), but we've seen nice things)

Tower of London (not been inside)

St. Paul's Cathedral

St. Paul's Cathedral (Job's favourite!)
Westminster Abbey (not been inside)

Downing Street safety

Downing Street
Green Park

Science Museum....That's me in pixels :) and a massive globe.

Natural History

Science Museum
Natural History Museum
(We are SO going again, with the kids! They will love it!)

Thames

London Bridge
Golden Hinde (not been inside)
Trafalgar Square

I had to buy flip flops on day 2 --> blisters

Beach house exposition near London Eye (they even had a small 'beach' there for kiddo's).

I'm sure I have forgotten some of the things we've seen or been in to. We were exhausted after day 1 and exhausted after day 2. But it was great to spend some time together! Thank you again Liz, for taking care of our boys!!

Lundy with Liz!

Even before we moved to Devon, it was on my to do list: a visit to Lundy Island.

And last weekend I did it, with my friend Liz.

Ready to board.....

I must admit: at this point I was feeling a little bit sick....

Happy sight!!

It's a beautiful place. Not as 'special' as I had expected, but I'm glad we went. We had a fantastic day! The Island itself it quite 'empty'  (just like some (beautiful) parts of Dartmoor; great to walk & talk though.

The 'village'

Quite a big church for such a small Island!

One of the accommodations on the Island.

Apparently, there was a rare bird on the island, the Trumpeter Finch on the day we were there. So we spotted some bird spotters. This is how they tried to get it on camera; they spent a lot of time on their knees!!

And we have seen the bird too! I guess we are very lucky! ;)
Should be in this picture somewhere ;))

I guess I shouldn't forget to mention that there was a very nice bar tender on the MS Oldenburg who gave us his backgammon kit, so we could play on the way back....

So, if you ever plan to go there, don't forget to ask for the backgammon game and say hi from Liz and Mirjam!

Visitors May: Aunt and Uncle

My aunt and uncle came to stay with us for a couple of days.
We had a really good time.
We did the same trip as we did with Helma and Ries.
Hound Tor/Postbridge on Dartmoor
Found an other Geo Cache!

Levi loves having guests! He is the one that gets most upset about them leaving. And he will talk about them days or weeks after they have left.

Thanks J&R for the set of pictures!

I wasn't kidding when I said that EVERYBODY likes (to try) the trampoline! :))

With my aunt, Levi and I went to the Christian group to Blackbury Camp that was covered in bluebells: stunning!
After the trip we picked up Adam and Boaz at a friend's house and my aunt got to practise her English (one of her requests :)) with Victoria.
